The Choir that has been in existence around 100 years and which has experienced its share of ups and downs in that period.
Last year we took on a new Musical Director and took the opportunity to review our aims and current repertoire. The results of this is that we have more than doubled our membership and our last concert was sung to near capacity audience.
We do not hold auditions as we feel that precludes some who can sing but would shy away from any sort of test. At present, we sing with over 50 people and anyone who would like to join us will be made very welcome.
Our music encompasses both secular, religious and popular choral pieces and whilst trying to make it challenging to the members, we try always to bear in mind what an audience would like to hear, as that is important to us.
At present, we perform two concerts a year and have started to produce a few mini-concerts for certain charities and Churches in the district. Amongst our aims is the promotion of good Choral singing within Bridport and the surrounding area and to foster a happy and melodious choir.
