The Choir was formed in 1941 by off duty firewatchers who got together to sing after coming off their shifts. It's aim and purpose was and still is, to aid local Charities, Churches and worthy causes.
Travelling extensively, it has sung in the Vatican, France, Germany, Holland, Wales and all over the West of England.
It has taken part in the World famous International Eisteddfod at Llangollen,the Cornish Choir Festival in Westminster Abbey and most recently in Buckfast Abbey.
The Choir has broadcast on numerous occasions and has recorded cassettes and CD's with a varied programme and which is on sale to the public.
During its history, the Choir has raised thousands of pounds for Charities and Churches and hopes to continue to do so.
